Get to know some of our wonderful ponies and horses
Sapphire
Possibly the best known and certainly one of the most loved ponies in Ireland Sapphire is a real favourite. She has been the first pony of so many riders that we have lost count. Kindness and intelligence are her major assets and to know her is to love her! Sapphire is a purebred Welsh Section A pony.
China
China was bred down in Castletownbere. Nobody knows how she came to be called China. She is a lovely talented pony that riders move to when they are getting a bit big for Sapphire and she can take them right through to teenage years. From the picture you can see she is a bit bigger than Sapphire.
Charlie
Charlie used to live right next to the airport in Cork. You could see the planes coming and going from his field! Now he loves the quiet life but ask him for a gallop and he will fly like a plane. A favourite ride for pony games and a super show jumper.
Spot
Spot is another great favourite. He has done it all. From patiently giving beginner lessons to cross country for one day events to show jump league winner, he is a true multi-tasking hero.
Presto
Presto is purebred Connemara pony. She is one of Cathal's projects and already displays amazing talent as a show jumper. We plan to keep her for the riding school where she will train many upcoming show jumping riders.
Genie
Genie is Serena's foal born at the end of June 2014. The photo above was taken when she was very young. She has her mother's lovely temperament and we plan to keep her to use in the riding school when she is ready.
Amber
Amber is by the warmblood stallion Ramiro B. She is one of the most elegant moving horses as well as being gorgeous just to look at! Her dressage work is really good and she can jump as you can see from the photo.
Abba
Abba's real name is Rowanhill Clover Belle and she is very well bred being by the warmblood stallion Sunny Boy. Originally we had planned to train her as an event horse but when she was young she got injured. But Georgia really likes her a lot so she is kept as a broodmare. The amazing picture of Abba is by our great friend the wonderfully talented UK artist and writer Faith Roswell Ivory.
MollyMolly 's great-grandsire was the famous stallion Mill Reef who as a three year old won the Epsom Derby and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Molly's dam was an Irish draught and she was bred over in Durrus. Molly loves show jumping but her happiest times are when she's trekking up through the woods. She also well-known for eating anything, everything and often!

Misty
Misty came to us from a family in East Cork. She is a very steady pony so we use her for vaulting as well as normal riding lessons. Because she is so reliable she is a favourite with our special needs riders. All in all she is a superstar!
Percy
Percy is a purebred Welsh Section A pony. He has been with us since he was a yearling and he works mostly as a lead rein pony. He was bred in the same part of Wales that Sapphire comes from.
Chester
Chester is a lovely child's pony. One of our smallest and a great lead rein pony. But Chester also enjoys his jumping and was second in his class in the 2015 Autumn Show Jumping League. Zak
Zak is another favourite both as a trekking pony and also as a show jumper. His distinctive colouring and lovely shape make him a true one of a kind.
Penny
Like Luna, Penny came to us from Dingle. She is a lovely traditional Irish cob and very comfortable to ride, taking guests on treks with great pleasure in the summer. She spends her winters on a friend's farm.
Serena
Serena is Genie's mother and like her daughter she treats life in a relaxed way. Her brown and white markings are very distinctive and she will be used for guest riders from 2016.
Alexa
Alexa is named after our vet and neighbour Alex Hamilton because he bred her. She is a wonderful teacher for advanced riders but will just as happily take beginners on a trek. Everyone who rides her loves her. Alexa has competed in eventing to international novice level and she won her class in the 2015 Autumn Show Jumping League.
Luna
Luna came from Dingle where she worked as a trekking horse. She is a lovely quiet mare and happily takes guest riders through the forest in the summer. In winter she spends her time at leisure with Percy at a friend's farm where she has a lovely time recharging her batteries.
Prince
Prince is just four and one of the best quality traditional cobs we have ever come across. He is kind, gentle, clever and will join the trekking horses for the 2017 season. We love him to bits already
